FED: Food Expo & Discussion 2020

The NWI Food Council is hosting its fourth annual FED: Food Expo & Discussion, a day-long event open to all members of our community on February 7, 2020. FED is open to all — whether you eat food, play a role in the food system, or have a passion for food issues!

This collaborative event includes panel discussions, workshops, locally-sourced lunch, and admittance to the Expo which features local businesses, farms and food-focused organizations. This year's theme is "Get Dirty," with a focus on food and farms advocacy and hands-on workshops that will explore food and agriculture in Northwest Indiana.

Food & Beverages

We source the breakfast, snacks, lunch and drinks for this event as locally as possible. If you know a local food producer who may be interested in being an in-kind sponsor for this event, please let us know.

The meal will include a selection of delicious foods prepared with locally-sourced ingredients. The menu will include items for those are eat gluten-sensitive, vegetarian or vegan. You will be asked to specify your food preferences as part of your event registration.

Scholarships

We welcome the opportunity to provide scholarships to reduce or cover the cost of FED registration thanks to the generosity of our Event Sponsors. Please reach out to us to request a scholarship at events@nwifoodcouncil.org.

Student & Senior Discounts

We offer special discounted tickets for both students attending K-12 schools, colleges and universities, and Seniors age 65 and above. Please reach out to us to request a discount code at events@nwifoodcouncil.org.

Parking

Parking is free at County Line Orchard.

Lodging

We recommend the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Valparaiso where many of our guests speakers will be staying. Please contact us if you need assistance reserving a block of rooms.
