Farm Club Member Agreement

Thank you for joining Farm Club–a multi-farm CSA! We can't wait to share the harvest with you. Please review our Farm Club contract below. If you have questions, please contact us at allyssa@nwifoodcouncil.org.

We, Region Roots Local Farm and Food Hub and our cooperative of farmers, wish to provide you with fresh, local, seasonal food and you, the member, wish to receive a portion of our harvest. This agreement outlines our shared commitments to that relationship. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a relationship between our farms and you as our customer. Rather than simply purchasing food, our customers become “members” of this CSA, known as Farm Club, who receive a portion of the farm’s harvest. Our All Season Share runs for 21 weeks, from July 11-December 5; and each individual season of Summer, Fall and Winter run for 7 weeks each.

You will generally receive 10-11 varieties of fruits and vegetables. We promise to do our best to provide you with a bountiful share each week. The quantity of produce, however, may vary from week-to-week due to extreme weather, insects, or other production factors despite our best efforts. By joining Farm Club, you are agreeing to share the risk of crop failure with us and other members. In the unlikely event of a crop failure, our procedure is as follows: If only a small portion of crops fail, we compensate for the failed crops by filling your share with other crops grown on our farms that are ready for harvest at that time. In extreme cases if a large portion of crops fail, we will communicate our efforts to resolve the situation across our large cooperative of small farms. In addition to Farm Club, our farms sell to farmers markets, restaurants, and grocery stores. Although production is not segregated, Farm Club receives priority. After filling shares with the week’s harvest first, the remainder is sold to our other markets.

Members are responsible for showing up at the drop-off site each week to pick up your share of freshly harvested produce. If you cannot pick-up your share, you must arrange for someone else to pick it up for you or work directly with us to cancel that week. You are responsible for explaining the pick-up location and procedures to your substitute.

You are responsible for observing partner drop site rules, which are as follows:

  1. Pick up your share within the timeframe stated. Although we deliver high-quality produce to the site, it will decline quickly if not picked up in time.

  2. Be respectful of our drop site hosts’ property.

  3. Follow additional rules posted at your drop site regarding parking/use of certain entrances/boxes If you wish to change your drop site, you must email us two weeks prior to the change date so we can adjust your subscription details. Shares that are not retrieved within the pick-up time will be donated to the drop site host or partner pantry.

We take the safety of your food seriously. For your added protection, wash all produce before eating. The best way to communicate with us is via email. Our Farm Club Coordinator’s email is allyssa@nwifoodcouncil.org. Please contact us with any news of the following: changes to your postal or email address, changes to your drop-site location, problems with your drop-site, or dissatisfaction with your share. We will communicate with you by email.

When you sign up, you will be added to our distribution list. Please read your email from us. We depend on being able to communicate important information such as necessary changes to your distribution schedule or to our farm events.

Every week, we will email a newsletter giving you information about the crops available that week, recipe ideas, or other farm related news. By purchasing a Farm Club membership, you understand the following: I agree to purchase the membership share indicated. I understand that, although unlikely, the farms may change parts of this agreement related to production and distribution from time to time. I understand that they will contact me via email in advance of any changes to this agreement.

Sincerely,

The Region Roots Team and Your Farmers
